Busted released "Year 3000" as a single in 2003 in the United Kingdom where it reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart and became the 34th biggest seller of the year with 165,000 units. The single was also a success in Europe, reaching #2 on the Irish Singles Chart, while reaching the Top 10 in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The Jonas Brothers covered the song in 2006. With the current release of the the theatrical film, "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience," the Jonas Brothers are currently the hottest boy band in the United States and makes this song worth doing.

The versions are very similar but will use the Busted version as the reference since Busted used more keyboards than the Jonas Brothers.
