What are MIDI Files?

MIDI Files are song files that act just like the demo songs on a keyboard. Unlike songs from CDs or MP3 files, MIDI songs are versatile and editable, which means and you can do a lot more with them than just play them back.

As a learning tool, MIDI songs provide an almost infinitely editable audio reference to use when learning or practicing a song. You can change key, slow down tempo, even mute individual instrument sounds to suit your practice needs.
